TESTING THE TOURISM-LED GROWTH HYPOTHESIS WITH STRUCTURAL BREAKS: THE CASE OF TURKEY

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between economic growth and tourism revenues in Turkey within scope tourism-led hypothesis with help tests that take into account structural breaks. In context, causality cointegration based on Fourier approach were used by considering industrial production index, real effective exchange rate data for January 2005-December 2019 period. results test revealed that, unlike Granger test, which does not break, break have a unidirectional from growth. Similarly, contrast Johansen analysis, detected existence long-term growth, rate. addition, estimation showed positive statistically significant effect
